Attributed to NICOLA CASISSA (Naples, act. 1680 - c. 1731)
"Roses, chrysanthemums, carnations, narcissi and other flowers in a sculpted urn next to two birds in a landscape"
Oil on canvas
96 x 123 cm
1.500 - 2.000 €

The Italian painter Nicola Cassissa worked mainly in the Campania and Naples regions and specialized in painting flowers, fruits and birds. He was a disciple of the still life painter Andrea Belvedere, an important exponent of this genre in Naples in the 17th century. Cassissa's style, of great detail and decorativeness, can be seen in this artwork with the inclusion of birds in motion, next to a variety of flowers in a vase with relief motifs.
