DUTCH SCHOOL Late 17th Century
"An architectural perspective capriccio with elegant figures"
Oil on canvas
73 x 91 cm
1.500 - 2.000 €

The capriccios are landscape paintings where architectures and archeological ruins take the main importance. These are depicted generally with an element of fantasy, though the painters used real references. In this painting, it can be seen an imaginary palace with staffage dressed in final 17th century fashion and in amorous attitude, creating an idealized set of great charm.

Following designs of Hans Vredeman de Vries. Influenced by Dirck van Delen y Hieronymus Janssens, 17th Century
